Hey yall! I just wanted to fill ya'll in on a simple way to avoid big tech picking on you for using certain words or hashtags and it's simple.
On your mobile phone, most of them anyway - your keyboard has a "long press feature" which will bring up alternate ways to type a letter. Algorithms do not have the ability to read these alt texts so they over look them.
I use "G-Board" for my digital keyboard needs and it has a ton of settings. as with most virtual keyboards, if you long press and nothing happens, go to your keyboard settings (usually found with in the keyboard screen itself) and turn on ALT TEXT and long press features.
This technique of avoid big tech censorship has worked for me on facebook, twitter and others. I also know there is a way to apply alt text to PC Windows but im not sure how to do that yet. (any help on that would be appreciated).
The hashtag #MaidenGate and words, "Maiden" and "Gate" combined in a sentence may/would trigger an automatic algorithm on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and the like... However if you use alt text in either example: MãîdêñGåtê or Mäídéñ or Gātë, these texts would not.
But let's say the word "gate" offends me. Now I will report your post personally, which will trigger an actual social media Nazi to receive the report notification and then they would review the post.
One thing you have to keep in mind when using this technique is that this is only going to help you avoid the automatic algorithms. If you use alt text in an offensive word that brings on physical reports, an actual human will be reviewing the post and more than likely, you'll be reprimanded for it.
Just a heads up to not go and use this technique all willy-nilly.
So use this technique smartly.
Anyway - happy Thursday yall! Stay safe!
As you were :)
