Changes to the Site!

Hey everybody! This is just a quick post to let y'all know about some of the changes I've made recently to the site. First of all, the entire thing has had a massive remodel. I'm still working on making sure it looks right on EVERY screen, so if there is a bit of weirdness with the layout, I apologize. On mobile, if you have issues, switch to desktop mode for the time being.

This stuff is a lot more complicated than it looks, and I'm learning a whole new coding language to build out the Wiki, but I think I've nearly learned it well enough to build the boxes I want to use.

But anyways:

If you sign up for the site (it's 100% free and always will be, by the way), you get access to your own member page and the forum.

Member Page

To access the member page, from the header bar, hover your mouse over the word 'participate' and a drop-down menu will appear. Click the box that says 'Members.'

You will be prompted to log in if you haven't already. Click the 'Log In' button.

Signing up & Logging In

It's a standard sign up or log in page:

Member Page

After that you'll have access to your member page, where you can write your own posts and share them.

Notifications

Make sure you visit the settings tab on your page and adjust notifications for the site to your preference. You can always adjust them later. I personally don't care to get an email every time someone posts in the forum, so I have that turned off. I check it often enough without it, so it seems unnecessary. Know what I mean?

The Forum

This is what the forum looks like for now. I can add more topics and even subtopics and tags if it grows and it's needed. I'm very happy to do it. I understand that it might not be the most exciting looking forum you've ever seen, but it is my way of offering to you a little corner of the internet where you don't have to worry about censorship. Obviously, things that are illegal are absolutely not welcome here, but "conspiracy" type topics or bitching about Jack Dorsey or whoever absolutely is.

In fact, I encourage it. :)

Writing A Post

When making a post on the forum, you can add photos, videos, add dividers to separate up your thoughts, add HTML and code, use GIFS and emojis, and add attachments.

Really, the sky is the limit. :)

I have also added two new pages:

The first is the 'Shared Gallery' page where you can upload images that you find relevant or interesting. Get there by hovering your mouse over the "participate" section on the menu and moving down to select 'Shared Gallery.'

Shared Gallery

You can tag other members and even share the images with other people. (They will have to become a site member to view them.)

File Share

The second is the File Share page, where you can upload any file you like to share with the rest of the site members. This is useful for PDFs and Word docs and things like that. I am actually going to be uploading quite a few documents that I have on there here shortly. :)

There are a few more features I am looking to add as well, including private messaging between members, group chats, mods for the forum, file share, and doc share pages, and even guest writers for the blog portion of the site. Again, it's just taking time to build some of these areas out, but I'm getting closer every day in getting it done! Woohoo.

Anyways, thank you for reading this if you've made it this far! The site can obviously be used without ever setting digital foot in the members area, but I am hoping that for those that do want to use it, it can be a nice little corner of the internet for ya.

Thanks!
